problems searching for non-ASCII text in .chm files

Sandy @, Samstag, 25.09.2004, 17:12 (vor 7125 Tagen)

Hi All!

Sorry I have to write this in English since I don't know a single word in German. My question is to HTML Help experts out there. Does anybody know why search doesn't work properly on .chm files if the wildcard has non-ASCII characters in it> The search engine forms a list of topics, but some of them don't contain the text being searched. I haven't been able to find any info on this on the Internet, so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
S

some information you can find at:
http://www.help-info.de/en/Help_Info_HTMLHelp/hh_fts.htm

The search information inside a CHM file is stored in a special format. I think - don't know exactly)- not all wildcard searching is matching.

For further information you'd look at the CHM specification:
